tracy, do you own the kiger mustang and the arab mare?   a friend of mine is getting a kiger gelding soon, and she plans to do endurance with him.   the crossbreeding that you are talking about will probably be fine, but if you dont want to wait that long for this baby to be your next endurance horse, just go ahead and get a mustang now and start riding.   get a kiger or a blm mustang, either should make a good endurance mount for you.

i have found that the mustangs have great heart rate recoveries, as good as arabs in most cases.   the mustangs do have a thicker hair coat, which will require some body clipping in warmer weather to help them cool down quickly.    as for people telling you that your crossbred prospect wont be a top ten prospect, or a mustang is not a top ten prospect, well frankly, they just dont know what they are talking about.   ed
