[RC] what to look for in a possible endurance horse - Ed Kilpatrick

well, if you want to wait for that filly to grow up, she should be fine for it.
if you want to get started doing endurance rides sooner than that,  most any sound, sensible, safe horse will do.  breed is not important. most any of the light horse breeds will do just fine, and cross bred horses will too.  it just needs to be a horse that is properly trained and conditioned, ridden enough to handle the rigors of the trails, vet checks, etc.   find one that you like the looks, the way it rides and moves and you should do ok.         ed
