Iron on hem tape.Comes in rolls, works really well. Essentially it is a strip of fabric glue, fabric sections and stores and craft stores have it. You can also buy sheets of double sided iron on 'glue" in large sheets used for 'appliqueing".(sp?)I guess you could get a gromet kit and make the holes for ties. And iron on seam binding for the edges. Yeah, you could do it without a sewing machine. Laurie

Actually, I can't sew either, and I made my own.  I just used
the iron-on seam-binding stuff (wow, I'm blanking on what I
should be calling it).  Then I used a needle & thread to sew
pennies in the corners (too lazy to go find washers) and to sew
ties on it.  Works just fine. :)
