Maybe it's a "guy thing".     I always have to have someone else trot my horse nowadys.
Thank goodness for kind friends and helpful strangers.
 
I need a good rock, stump, hillside to get on but once up things go fine.

Dear Ridecamp,
     There was a rider in the Central Region in the 80's who rode with a hip replacement for years.  He was in his 70's.  He finally quit the sport because he was eventually unable to run to trot his horse out and didn't want to ask for help, although he could still ride well enough.  Trish
