Re: [RC] dummy question re: electrocution from tank heater - Truman Prevatt

This might help.

The short answer is yea but if you have too much line between the GFCI and the end use point it may trip without reason. I'd put a plug in type GFCI junction as close as possible to the water tank.

Ok, here is a dummy question about electricity. I do have GFCI in my house
in the breaker box and I think it's also in the outlet at my house (an
outdoor outlet on my porch). Then an electric cord runs to my little
shedrow (really close to my house), into a power strip, then a cord runs
from power strip to the water tank - the powerstrip is only for an electric
fence charger and the tank heater. Does this give me GFCI at my water tank
or do I need something else??

Husband is supposed to install a fusebox and power at the barn, but as I
understand it, the cobbler's kids are the last to get new shoes... Or
something like that.

Thanks!
