[RC] Weight Divisions - Michael Maul

In response to:"BTW, I did not get your `Vote for Me` statement. Is that because it was sent to individual emails accessed by the system administrator- you? Do the other candidates have access, or do they have to send their statements to the whole membership via RC or the members Forum, friend and foe alike? Were they AERC filed email addys? Curious minds want to know.
It was also interesting that the digest form of the Forum was not sent until your response was composed; it just didn't seem off the top of your head.... just a matter of interest, Mike. There are others than me who have an eye for ethics."

**********************************************
First - I'm not the system administrator for any of the AERC software programs in the office. I do work with the office on administrating the website. No AERC member information is on the website.

Second - in past elections - I've sent out an additional paper statement about the election urging people to vote and at the same time asking for their support. The AERC office supplies mailing labels for this purpose that any member can have for non-commercial use. Any of the nominees can do this and some have in the past. I have no idea whether they did this time.

This year - I decided to send this letter by email. Using the members directory that's available to all members - I emailed the same letter that I would have paper mailed using the labels. I spent over 25 hours doing this from home using my Internet service provider. There was no use of AERC resources to do this.

As far as who received the letter - I didn't feel that people who knew me well needed to receive it. Given the amount of manual work I was doing - I tried to keep the number I sent out to a minimum. Adding another 7 hours work didn't make sense for completeness.

A far as your Yahoo forum digest statement - I don't have a clue on that. Yahoo decides on when a digest is sent out. The moderator of the group is Mike Jaffe. From my experience with other Yahoo groups - the moderator has no control over when a digest is sent out.

And I believe virtually all our members have an eye for ethics. I'm a part of that group and always have been.
