[RC] Gps thing again - Steve Elliot \(Equine Performance\)

Timex sends a different HR transmitter signal than Polar.... the signals
are not compatible. I know riders interest in the Timex GPS system for
horses and how some are trying to adapt the Timex human transmitters to
horse use.

Polar Electro has told me that Polar is working on GPS but they are
concerned about the GPS signal dropouts since GPS require 3 satellites
to be accurate. If you are riding and you lose a GPS signal for awhile,
then the total distance covered shown on the HR monitor becomes
inaccurate.....for example, a 10 mile ride could show up as an 8.5 mile
ride.
