[RC] Resting Heart Rates - Patti Pankiewicz-Fuchs

When I first started learning about endurance (and will continue to do so for the rest of my life) I remember getting the impression that the lower the resting heart rate the better in terms of performance. I *finally* got a new stethoscope and checked Sera's this weekend and it is 23 bpm. I *think* that's pretty good, if I remember right.

Proof is in the pudding though, so I'm just wondering if anyone would want to share with me if they in their own practice, have seen a difference in the performance of horses with different resting heart rates. And also, if 23 bpm is considered average, below average, whatever.

Thanks,
Patti F. and Sera (who was a good girl about getting her heart rate checked for the first time)
