I ride alone more often than not, but I always call my husband at work (5
miles away) and tell him my itinerary (we have all trails named.)  He knows
from that how long it should take me to return.  I also tell him I will call
him when I return.  That way, if I don't call him, he can send out a search
party and he knows where to look for me.  If I'm riding one of our old
reliable horses and start riding mid-afternoon, I just leave a note on the
kitchen table.  All of the trails I use are either on our property or in the
local neighborhood, even though they are in the wilderness.

with Dorika." Funny how many people don't fathom that. <<


You're so right, Maryanne.  For me, one of the things I enjoy the
most about riding is the one-on-one time with just me and my horse.

I'm also really bad about riding even the greenies when I'm alone.
And where I am, I have to ride along the street quite a bit at the
start and end of each ride.  I get yelled at a lot for being
stupid.
