[RC] ultium feed - Alice Yovich

I can get XTN in TX. I fed it to my daughter's pony for awhile b/c the feed store said it was good for horses that needed a low sugar diet. I quit feeding it b/c that feed store was a pain to get to and I didn't want to drive somewhere special for that bag of feed. He liked it and did well on it. It might have helped his skin. I'm not sure. His skin didn't get bad until after I changed the food, but I'm not sure if the two were related at all. The same feed store carries Ultium and XTN and the big difference I saw was that XTN had probiotics added. I'm going to keep him on the higher fat diet through the winter and see if his skin is any better next year. He didn't have bad skin when I lived in KY and he was on a higher fat diet, but it may just be a coincidence. I'm not sure. my mare isn't a hard keeper, but does better on pelleted feeds. I noticed that they were both pooping out a lot of oats on the XTN.
