[RC] cats & snakes, and bears and chickens OT - Sharlene Roberts-Caudle

Well, it's been interesting to read all the
experiences--but I just wish my cats helped with
bears. 'Night before last my husband ran out when he
heard something bothering the chickens. I ran out
after I heard him cursing and yelling. He was chasing
a bear with a metal T-post--across the road and
through the neighbor's pastures. He'd found it lying
down in the chicken house after killing a chicken. It
got another one before my husband ran it off. The
bear just took off their heads and hadn't gotten
around to eating them yet. This is the first time a
bear has gone after anything but apples and garbage.
By the way, the horses were just an audience--didn't
seem to alarm them at all.
