When I moved from KY to Tx, I hung a bucket with water in the stock 
trailer. . I 
don't believe that all the water sloshed out, 

I heard somewhere once to take a piece of wood, cut it round to the shape
of a 5 -gal bucket (bucket has to be the same circumference all the way
down.  Drill holes in the wood and put it on top of the water. It will
keep the water from sloshing out but the horse can push down and drink
like an automatic waterer. I've never tried it.
