We bedded with shavings. The first part of the trip it was with chip- type, then we switched to finer sawdust type due to availability. The trailer is more enclosed with screens on the windows. It did not seem to blow around. I have a good friend that has the stock type trailer and she beds with shavings too. I would use a fly mask if I had a stock type trailer though.
