[RC] Cold sores on a horse???? - Maryanne Stroud Gabbani

Ok, I've got a puzzler for all of you out there. My two year old gelding suddenly popped up with a round hard flat discoloration on his lips, exactly even on the upper and lower lips. My local vet came and looked and told me that they were granuloma's formed due to irritation caused by the larvae of a fly that had laid its eggs on his lips. We'd have to cut off the granuloma's, wash 6 times a day with Betadine to get rid of the larvae. How does this sound to any of the vets out there?
