Re: [RC] [RC] Why by from the killers? - heidiWow - $2000? I would expect to pay more than that for a good endurance horse, to be honest. It is another if it is a young horse of unproven lines, an older horse perhaps with a season or two left or an untrained horse of any age - but $2000 is a steal for a horse with reasonable potential. Most show horses :) go for 3 to 5 times that amount as HALTER horses. YIKES!many people have paid over $2000 for their horse, and still have saddle fit issues. That was my response as well, Sandy. In a sport where Powerstrokes and Cummins Turbos are the norm for pulling rigs, where people pay well into 5 figures for Sundowners to camp in and haul their horses, where many saddles have 4-figure price tags, I personally find it shocking that some people don't think the actual flesh-and-blood equine companion is worth any investment at all. Do we have our priorities backward, or what?? We occasionally have "prospects" as low as $2000 or under--but they are generally young and not yet started. Most of ours have higher price tags than that. But they are still dirt-cheap compared to what even mediocre show horses sell for, and for what one gets for one's money. We are still "giving them away" at the prices we DO charge! Good thing we have day jobs...
