FW: [RC] speed of gaited horses - Mike Sherrell

With the Peruvian you try to loosen your lower spine, between your pelvis
and your ribcage, so that from your ribcage up you don't move, but with your
pelvis you follow (and direct) the horse's movement via his back. That said,
with your seat you relate to his hind feet and with your hands you relate to
his forefeet.

It helps if you can learn to identify the sound of each foot hitting the
ground so that with your ears you can tell exactly what he is doing.

My gelding did have some offspring before he was
gelded but I don't know if any inherited this
trait--his most notorious is Boeagle (FMR Bay Eagle &
Bozell), an 8 year old who is winning races in
California for Andrus Racing Arabians in Copperopolis.

Anyone have any hints about riding the rack?

Too bad he's gelded. Maybe he can be cloned.
