I am currently riding a 14.3h mare and she feels as large under saddle as
the 15.3h horse I used to ride.  In addition to that she has a longer
stride.  I am 5'7" and don't look big on her, in fact I have had many people
think she is much bigger than she is while I am riding.  Then in camp they
are surprised at how "small" she is when she is just on a lead.  It's so
much more than size!  Louise and Josie
