Now in an Olympian reversal, scientists have found that lactic acid 
actually enhances a tired muscle's ability to keep on twitching. 

Didn't Tom Ivers tell us that it's a source of energy or something like that? 
Seems he recommended an occasional anaerobic sprint up a hill or something like 
that to tap unused energy sources during an endurance event? Who paid more 
attention and can explain?
