Re: [RC] [RC] erin clutter-looking for TALL horse? - Erin Clutter

Well for myself...I started out on a 13.3 arab gelding, then a 14.3 arab mare, then a 15.2 arab mare, than a 15.3 arab gelding, then a 15.2 arab gelding, and now a 15.1 arab gelding(my horse rushcreek karl who is lame).  And to tell you the truth...i actually love the 15h horses. I don't seem to have any problems with tall horses being a disadvantage at ALL!  Never had a problem with any. And with going to bathroom and such(getting off and on I ahven't had a problem).  I don't know what it is but I think I have a big bladder because I usually go a whole 50 without going the bathroom.  My dad usually stop at vet checks and only goes then when on races, but a lot of people I know are always stopping and gettin off.  I guess if you stop and get off a lot there may become a trouble, but not for me :-)   SO i kind of have an advantage.  And actually to tell you...the two winners of this year Tevis was a 16h horse and a 15 hand horse:)  Go tall Arabians! haha My dad and I like taller horses because well we are tall ourselves...me being about 5'7-5'8 and my dad being 6'4.  So we like the tall ones and we have had more luck with the taller one then the shorter ones to tell you the truth, except the shorter ones did last a long time!  The 13.3h gelding just died this past spring and he was somewhere in his 20's.  I did my first ride on him when I was 8 or 9.  And then my 14.3 mare was a kick butt horse, but she had her "bad habits" too.
