[RC] RE:getting a horse in the trailer - Carol

This is pretty common but in case you haven't heard of it , it works. Attach a long lounging rope to the halter, pull it through the feed door and hold it tight with one hand(with gloves on, if your smart) and stand a little behind and to the side of your horse. Use a buggy whip in your other hand, on his rump to encourage him in and at the same time keep the rope taunt, so his head stays pointed straight into the trailer. It doesn't take long for them to figure it out and it's always worked for me. You have to be persistant and firm.  You can't be a wimp on this one, or the horse will win.
