Re: [RC] drug rule - Truman Prevatt

I've seen people give adequan shots the day before the ride in ride camp. I've seen a vet show up at a base camp to meet a few of his clients on Friday before the ride. He did some adjustments and then gave one of his client's horse a shot of IV Legned. When asked by the clinet if it was legal he said sure was and it was the best time to do it. The vet at that time was vetting quite a few AERC rides so I expect if that is any indication - it's all legal.

I have a question in re the following;

“Again, MSM in very minute quantities can be a sulfur supplement--but in quantities that one would feed as a joint supplement is way over the "dietary" level”

…..what is the dosage difference?? In other words, how much MSM can be given “legally” as a nutritional dosage, as compared to a “medicinal” dosage???

Also, are Adequan injections against the no-drug rule, if used longer than 72 hours before the competition?.....just wondering! ….thanks—Chris E./Indiana
