This straw man has been set up on ridecamp before. It is not valid, anymore
than saying that a horse is from a desert island so any carbohydrates or
other food is abnormal.
In the case of absolutely required nutrient (like selenium), "normal"
amounts refer to the normal levels as established by clinical research.
These can be found in any vet textbook.
