[RC] Polar A1 Heart Rate Monitor - Peter Harper

I have a Polar A1 HRM that I want to use for riding.
Has anyone out there modified a human transducer to
work on a horse? I tried to duct tape it to the girth
on the right side but it didn't work. After the ride
I was able to get it to work by positioning is by hand
at the bottom of chest. This will work for P&R but
I'd like to have it work under saddle.

After the ride she was good a sweaty, does the
transducer have to be wet to make contact?

I know they sell equine transducers but I don't want
to part with a $100 if I don't have to.

Any barnyard McGiver's out there with suggestions?

Cheers, Pete and Ladyhawk in TX
