[RC] fractured splint bone - rides2far

Another testimonial here for splint surgery.....

Horse I'll be riding now has had splint surgery. He had a big splint that
turned out to have not calcified to the bone or whatever, so the big
chips were shifting around. I thought after the surgery the knot would be
gone. Instead he's got a bigger knot where the bone lay down more bone in
response to the surgery. He wears splint boots to protect the bump. :-P
The good news is he's sound.

My other horse shattered a rear splint, up high on the bone, in a fall in
the pasture. They removed all of it. He won a ribbon in a hunt seat class
in a local show before the hair grew back from where they shaved for his
IV.
