He wears splint boots to protect the bump. :-P The good news is he's sound...." The Vet who did the splint surgery on Al for me, told me that the key to keeping the bump down was how tight the leg was wrapped the first week or two after surgery. I apparently wrapped tight enough for he had no bump. Unfortunately, I must have gotten a wrinkle in the cotton and some white hairs grew at that spot. By the way Al is completely sound now, but I had to retire him from endurance. He had a 12 mph mind and 7 mph legs. He is now in Wyoming, packing in the Wind River Range and loving every minute of it.
