Re: [RC] Broken Splint Bone - Barbara McCrary

I've been told Tom Yarborough is "as good as it gets."

If you have a reasonably competant vet and a clinic where you can leave
the horse for the first 4-5 days to be sure there are no problems, this is a
common surgery. I don't know where you are, but there is a clinic in Galt,
Calif, South of Sacramento that has a surgery facility. The best surgeon
around is a "floater" to the clinics, Tom Yarborough. A really good vet,
and a great personality. He did a splint surgery on my mare, and she healed
just fine. No infection, etc. The longer you let this fester and cause more
problems against tendons and ligaments, the more problems you will have down
the road, IMO. Good Luck.
