FW: [RC] ez boots for paso fino - Mike Sherrell

I tried EZboots on my (extremely well-gaited barefoot AND in iron shoes) Peruvian Paso and her gait evaporated until I took them off. It's like trying to skip in galoshes.

Subject: [RC] ez boots for paso fino

julie,  ez boots will work very well on your paso fino.  because of the four beat gait, you dont have to worry as much about them coming off since your horse does not overstep, thus eliminating that problem of the horse's rear foot stepping into the front ez boot and pulling it off.    your horse can wear just one ez boot in a situation where you are using the ez boot because he pulled the steel shoe off.   you should also do just fine with ez boots on the front feet only.  sounds like you want to use them because that sand is just wearing his front feet down to little nubbins.   the ez boots will not significantly affect his gait.  if he has a good paso fino gait now,  he wont start trotting because of the ez boots.  dont wait until you get out on the trail to try and put one on, though.  do it back at the barn, get proficient at putting it on, and let your horse get used to them.   i have a set, size 00, that i will sell you pretty cheap.  check to see what size you need.        ed
