[RC] Hock Sores? - amy

I fix one problem and another emerges, life in the
horse world I guess. I noticed my horse has been
getting hock sores, I guess from laying down in his
corral and getting up. He is in a corral with shade
but a sand base. I am on the waiting list to move him
into a stall with shavings but it may be a year or so,
that's how wonderful the people are at my boarding
place. Is there anything I can do in the meantime,
should I run out and buy rubber matts, bags of
shavings and just have them pick the shavings out and
replace the shavings myself as the levels go down.
Would just mats work where he lays down? Or someone
suggested maybe using liquid bandage to cover them?
Anyone have any hints? I did notice even when he had
a stall with shavings he was getting little sores,
just not quite as raw. Thanks, Amy
