How do I know what size arab or arab cross is the right size for me?

I'd have to agree with others who said to look for a horse with substance and good conformation first, and don't get too hung up on height.  Try horses of different heights out, and see which you like.  My husband is 6', and does LD on his 14.1h Paso Fino.  He feels fine on him.  Of course, Diamante has good substance (took us a while to find a Paso with nearly 8"cannons <G>), and feels like a much larger horse when one rides him.  My current Arab gelding is 15.2h, which I find rather challenging to mount (that's an understatement!  LOL).  My coming 4 yr old should be 14.2h tops, which is perfect in my book.  A well built smaller horse can really move out, too...hubby's Paso has an awesome extended trot that keeps up with my Arab and my friends' Arabs, all of which tower over him.
