Just wanted to publicly
thank Marge and Vern Biehl (and their awesome volunteers) for once again giving
us a truly fabulous and challenging 100 mile ride. We are really
lucky to have the Biehls putting this ride on, since particularly in
the southern pacific region, we have so few 100s. This year they added a
65 as a training ride for doing the 100 next year.
The trail is beautiful
(in mountains with pine trees) and absolutely perfectly marked; there was tons
of water (including water we were encouraged to scoop over our horses), and hay
etc. for the horses at the VCs. Basecamp is located at a gorgeous old
oak-studded 300 acre "land grant" type ranch.
This is a great ride for riders
wanting to try out the distance, and I also highly recommend
it as a conditioning ride for anyone planning to do Tevis.
