Re: [RC] [RC] appys - Ed & Wendy Hauser

"...Spanish had not especially selected for those
coat patterns until a later time frame. But the traits existed. The Nez
Perce likely got hold of a few that HAD the trait, and they apparently
liked it, as they were one of the few Indian tribes that practiced..."

This account of how the Nez Perce got the spotted horses, fits much better
with the general spread of horses and horse using in N. America. The
through Canada, which implied Fur traders, and more specifically implied
British fur traders just seems to have to many holes in it.

Indeed it was a tragic loss to endurance when most Chief Joseph's horses
were prevented from breeding on.

There is something really special about getting to ride all day, and all
night on your horse. I know that a lot of people like to get finished, and
get it over with. Yes, it is a lot of work. But, realize that each ride,
especially a 100 is a really special gift and savor it for all it is worth.
