Used one for the 4 day Grand Canyon 2002 - no problems at all!
It did save me from a VERY sore back when I got dumped once on a conditioning ride a couple of years ago - one of those "boogeymonsters" hiding around a sharp bend tried to get us!!
Mine is quite old and black and has done many, many miles with me! Only problem I've ever had was doing one ride with a cycling shirt and camelback bounced up and down the whole ride - never any problem with regular T-shits, sweatshirts or under jackets though.
