I was advised to use two packets and pour little spots of the stuff along the backbone, just as you do for dogs. Last year my grey arab was so allergic to tick bites I had to give him allergy medicine. I ended up giving him a shot of Iver(Ivo)mec for cattle - 1mL/1cc per 100lb body weight - and it worked like a charm. No more bites. The ticks are back with a vengeance this year - looks like I'll have to do it again. Funny thing though, the ticks aren't bothering my brown burro!
