[RC] Hallucinations on 100 mile rides - beth glover

Hi; One of my friends has always told me that when he did the Tevis, he kept getting passed in the dark by someone riding bareback and double...two riders on one horse, and he thought that was a really good horse to be going so fast in the last few miles with two riders aboard.  He also saw the cowboys, indians and pioneers. Then there were the stories about the Garden Gnomes.  The thing is...could local riders be putting garden gnomes on the trail to mess with your mind? Could pink Flamingos be part of someone's campsite? Could riders be waiting at the 80 mile point to trot past you riding double, for a joke? The story of the person seeing cowboys and indians...could those be ghosts of the 49'rs, the Donner Party trying to tag along? Maybe they aren't hallucinations at all......

Beth Glover ( shiver...there are no white Squirrels in California. There are no Flourescent snakes. I will be prepared not to see such things)

Watch LIVE baseball games on your computer with MLB.TV, included with MSN Premium! ============================================================ The whole ride experience can be very hard, and at times you question why you put yourself through such abuse. But then you remember all those moments when you pop up over a hill and are suddenly surrounded by the most stunning views. It's just you and your horse and for a moment time stops and you can hear the angels sing. Therein lies the addiction, at least for me. ~ Leslie Beyers ridecamp.net information: http://www.endurance.net/ridecamp/ ============================================================
