[RC] Sight hounds - Nancy Sturm

We owned a whippet, a borzoi and a greyhound during the time we were dog
showing and competing in lure trials. I always wanted a saluki. They are
just SO beautiful and run like the wind. At the trials, they were inclined
to just keep on running though, often needing to be tackled by their owners
in order to get them back on lead.

The borzoi and greyhound were both field champions, great farm dogs, great
couch dogs. Both had been to obedience class, where they were not stars,
but learned the basics and came in when called.

Sadly, the greyhound suffered a spinal injury when she was kicked by a 30
year old pony and had to be put down.

I wonder about a pharaoh hound, short-haired, very beautiful, maybe a little
more hardy than the greyhound and no long coat to deal with like the borzoi.
