Years ago when we were doing lots of timed arena events cheating sometimes
happened.  Usually some one's spouse, parent,   or such, was on the stop
watch. (Way before electric timers)
My response always was   "If you have to cheat to beat me, we both instantly
know who has the better horse"

And any "wins", or completions, got by whatever shortcuts, are pretty short
lived.    What goes around , comes around.
