Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] Snakes - heidi

You guys can waste all that energy and emotion
killing them, but they really won't bother you if you give them the
respect they want. (but maybe don't deserve)

It takes very little energy, and no emotion whatsoever. It is simply a
matter of keeping house, so to speak. And yes, *I* can respect them--but
my curious new foals won't, and my dog won't, and my neighbor's toddlers
won't.

As I said, I have no hard feelings toward the snakes--and I don't go hunt
them in areas where they are not on my turf.

As for it being a waste to kill ones in specific areas--if you only kill
the ones that come into specific places, you tend to select for ones that
will range somewhere else. Over the long haul, it does seem to make a
difference.

alive at the rides. Training/conditioning is one of the best tools
available. It makes us better horseman and women, it benefits our horses
and could quite possibly be the key to preventing most crashes.
