[RC] Girth galls and Ground contol shoes. - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

Hi,
My mare has problems with girth galls at shedding time. I have found that
coating the area with desitin solve the problem. She once had this problem on
a long, two day ride and I found switching from my professional choice dressage
girth with the square edges to a neoprine girth with rounder sides that
completely covered the buckles solved that issue.

This same mare has competed in ground control shoes for the last 2.5 years in
endurance and CTR. On all her rides with all kind of terrain and various trail
conditions we have never lost a shoe or had a lameness issue. I have been very
pleased with these shoes. So pleased I tried them on my dressage horse (with 4
white stockings and not the best feet in the world) My dressage horse had them
on for one reset and then I pulled them when she started developing the start
of white line. My experience seems to be typical...when they work on your
horse they work great and other horses don't do well with them at all. Good
luck.

===========================================================Of course things
aren't perfect, perfect doesn't exist on this earth.
Doesn't mean we won't go on trying to get better at what we do. Besides, if
everything was perfect today, what would you do tomorrow? Slamming each
other doesn't get anything done.
