Exactly.
And many of the saddles made for the Australian Stock Saddle Co. have a wood/steel tree that can be adjusted in width.

&gt;Many Aussie saddles are designed for narrow horses. They are made in
&gt;different widths now. The stuffing can be moved around easily giving some
&gt;adjustment. The tree is similar to an English tree in concept. One does
&gt;have to fit them to the horse. If they fit, they as good (or bad) as an
&gt;English saddle at keeping backs from soring.
