[RC] fear-alice-how to keep your "seat" - Melissa

So... should you ride with your stirrups a little shorter ??? more like a jockey ????
I just need a little clarification too.

alice,  the big spook is a bad thing!  i see lots of people get dumped when that happens.
you need to get the majority of your weight on the balls of your feet instead of on your seat, especially at a canter.  think of it as straddling the horse in a standing position, with your legs as relaxed as possible.  dont "squeeze with your knees".  you have to keep your center of gravity as low in the saddle as possible.  heels down, head in the middle!   ed
