[RC] Others Riding Out of Control- Advice Sought - Ridecamp Guest

ANY rider who is endangering the horse, other riders and the long-term
ownership of the property has to be stopped and properly channelled, IMO.
A kid this age doesn't understand the word LIABILITY and the subsequent
possible applications of her (their) behavior.
The parents would most likely be mortified that their little darlings are
behaving in such a manner, and I would recommend that not only do you contact
them immediately, I would have a video of their behavior so that there is no
possibility of SHE SAID/They Said/ He Said in the mix of emotions.
Lots of parents think letting a kid that age have a horse or pony is an instant
babysitter. Problem is, the "babysitter" never gets a vote about the events as
they happen.
The damage to the underweight horse is a big bell ringer.
Someone has to realize that ALL the boarders are at risk. If not by having a
direct contact accident/ wreck, but by the whole facility being shut down due
to a lawsuit and no insurance carrier wanting to deal with it all. Where will
you all board then? There is no reason to tolerate this behavior.
These same children will be SOON at the wheel of a car which weighs twice what
this horse does. Are they going to DRIVE any more responsibly than they are
riding? I seriously doubt it. This needs to be nipped in the bud----NOW- and
with either a video or MULTIPLE WITNESSES that the kids cannot skate away from
the testimony. If nothing else, petition the facility to ban these boarders.
You pay your board, and who will pay for damages to your horse when these kids
really do something stupid?

logic would prevail. But then, if logic did prevail,
men would ride sidesaddle.
