Re: [RC] PVC portable corral fencing? - Paul Latiolais

There is not much that a determined horse can't get through. I saw a horse clear a six foot panel a couple of months back.

There was a guy at The Home on the Range last weekend that had a really nicely designed panel system that seemed real sturdy, no less so than most of the stuff that is sold to haul on the side of your horse trailer. They were 5 ft high and 6 feet long and nicely braced in 1 inch PVC. You could stand on it. He did.

I took a digital picture of it, if anyone is interested.

This type corral may be OK for your own horse altho it doesn't take much
leaning on it to break it or shove it around.? However, I've seen loose
horses crash into it and free the penned horses.? Not a pretty sight now
with four loose horses running thru camp.

I built one when I lived in Ohio.? In extreme cold weather the PVC will shatter into splinters which can be very dangerous.? It was back in the early 90s so maybe the quality of pipe has improved.
