I'd park my
obnoxious Yankee self right next to them, set up all my crap, bust out my 6'
inflatable Godzilla, my parrot, my cooler full of Coronas and crank up some
Outkast!!

Ooo, Ooo, park next to us! Nobody else will because we have the same set-up.
I swear! Then we can have the whole place to ourselves!!

I just got back from Leatherwood. If you have never done this ride, you are
really missing out. It is just beautiful. Abbie and Hugh, (I think that is
his name, it sounded like they kept calling him U, but it is the south.) are
wonderful hosts as well as Phil , (the good and the bad Phil ) and everyone
else who helped out. The trails are tough, no doubt, but do-able. They were
definitely in the best shape they have ever been in. The restaurant made
things sooooo easy. It did get hot. The clippers were buzzing all day
Friday. I think the overall completion was pretty good. The vets were great.

Now about this "cut throat" business. First of all, who sleeps in a tent
anymore" I rarely see one, let alone 3 or 4. Now, when I was in a tent, my
greyhound ripped it up because we left him behind for dinner. Then he peed
in it, but it wasn't on fire. And that was in Georgia and I don't think he
hit anybody else's tent.

Now the ladies I hang with, well we will sit around and drink wine, beer and
the occasional Cap't. Morgan. And we do talk about people. But we are NOT
OLD!! Well, one of us is very old. She is the one we talk about the most
because she can't hear us! Just kidding. :)

Come on now. We have a lot of fun at these rides no matter where we go. That
nonsense about cutting tents and burning just wouldn't be tolerated.
Although we do put up with Howie. Hmmm?

The whole ride experience can be very hard, and at times you question why
you put yourself through such abuse. But then you remember all those
moments when you pop up over a hill and are suddenly surrounded by the most
stunning views. It's just you and your horse and for a moment time stops
and you can hear the angels sing. Therein lies the addiction, at least for
me.
