please tell me more about these 4 selections. i am a firm believer that  given the choice of what they need the horse will eat it   but... now what selections do  you   put out so they are sure   to have what they need offerred?

Free Choice Minerals are the solution to stop this.  When I run out of some of them I see wood disappearing off the fences.
Yikes,...I forgot to order more free choice.   I use 4 different selections and let the horses select the ones they need at the time.
Their choice varies with nearly each load of hay I feed.  I have fed free choice minerals for many years.

If your horses have just started wood chewing, consider their diet.  Horses that need phosphorous may chew on wood.
