Pat is the first one to say "it is so old its new again". This quote is in the
front of his book. I have known Pat for about 16 years. I met him when he was
absorbing the old Masters ways.He humbly gives them the credit that they
deserve. What I enjoy about Parelli is that a lot of the "Old Cowboys" are
really great comunicaters with horses but lously with people. I went to a Tom
Dorrance Clinic and didn't 'get' what he was doing because of his refinment. I
went away mystified. Pat took what they were trying to explain and put it in a
language that the common person (ME) could understand. It is all about WHEN you
put the pressure on and WHEN you take it off. FEEL,TIMING, and BALANCE. Pat's
book is GREAT! With all the horses I have been blessed to have handled it
'works' with every last one. Pat has taken old ways rolled it around and given
his students a begining, middle and.........Can you tell that I am a fan!
UNFORTUNATLY there are too many "instructors" that don't have the feel timing
and balance that is required. It will always be their interpretation of the
information. Pat's interpretation of the information is easy to understand and
use. Pat has made mistakes over the years but from what I have observed he
learned from them and moved on.I admire him for that. He is a showman, but what
a show!
