RE: [RC] Why do we vaccinate horses every year? (long) - Libby & Quentin Llop DVM

Which vaccines t use & how often? The answer is different for every horse
and every region. Label recommended intervals are the result of testing,
but it is generally recognized that some vaccines do not provide long enough
protection (some of the respiratory vaccines).

Be aware before you experiment on with horse that the following diseases
with effective vaccines are fatal or potentially so: Rabies, tetanus, the
various encephalitises (including West Nile), strangles, Potomac horse
fever. Find out which to use in your area.
