[RC] High ties - Born Country

er...um....I'll probably get slammed, but just why is
it not a good idea to allow a horse to move back and
forth on a high tie? I've often run a rope from my
trailer to around a nearby tree (btw...fleece girth
covers are excellent tree savers) and just allowed my
horse to roam back and forth at will. I haven't
experienced a problem. When we have 2 horses on the
high tie, then we'll secure them so they can't roam
freely and get in each other's way, but for one horse,
why not?

I still prefer what it is that BH100, Tevis, The Duck's Soup of Endurance,
etc. has to offer...but, to see a horse canter over sand for those
distances...Good Lord, it humbles me.
