I am planning to restart conditioning my pony with a view to
doing rides from next year ( thats only next week!).

I am in the UK and have limited time to hack out mid week during
the winter as I dont get to the yard till 6.30/7 in the evening
after work. I have access to good facilites (indoor and outdoor
arenas) for mid week schooling plus quiet lanes for weekend
/summer evening hacking. He lives out during the day on 17
acres and in at night.

My pony has done upto 50 mile rides in the past. He has had a 4
year break from rides and has done showing and dressage so hes a
little 'well covered'. He is quite a muscly type )welsh cob).

can anyone suggest a good conditioning/training regime? I am not
aiming for race rides , just graded rides of upto 50 miles . I
will stick to 20 and 30 miles this coming year to see how it
goes.
