Best wishes to all, jeri Hate to say I feel too guilty for riding almost every day; between all the horse-exercise and all my child obligations (driving to sports, dr., dentist., ortho appts), well, the house and property falls apart. I guess my big goal is to put some time back into maintenance of what could be lovely horse property! While I would like to think someday soon I can enjoy an endurance ride again, having sold the conditioned and experienced horse that could do one (the Anglo Arab), I need to focus on the coming 5 year old; continue the trail riding and grit my teeth and do the foundation schooling she needs. And, much as I want her to be solid in groups and camping, I need not to rush things. While I have no doubt she has the conformation for distance; I have not seen the desire, until lately. The Anglo Arab taught me that what you see as a 4 year old is not necessarly what you have as a 7 year old! So, I believe there is still hope she will develop the GO, and also, recently, I have seen the capability of an awesome walk! But, like Jeri, back on a youngster.....it takes loads and loads of time! Waffling still on keeping or selling the Arab/Morgan mare, just absolutely love her gaits and surefootedness; keep thinking this 15h mare is too small for me....also totally fed up with dealing with flakey buyers! Probably biggest goal for coming year is just plain lots of riding and good times with friends!
