I did try that a couple of months ago, but had the same experience as John. I think it was the strong odor. He wouldn't eat or drink as long as that stuff was on his nose. Is there, and where can I get, odorless plain zinc oxide? I think Desitin has other stuff in it that accounts for the strong medicinal smell.
